Shamanism ( / ˈ ʃ ɑː m ə n / shah-mən or / ˈ ʃ eɪ m ə n / shay-mən) is an anthropological term for a range of beliefs and practices relating to communication with the spiritual world. Eliade (1972) states: "A first definition of this complex phenomenon, and perhaps the least hazardous, will be: shamanism = technique of ecstasy." Shamanism encompasses the belief that shamans are intermediaries or messengers between the human world and the spirit worlds. Shamans are said to treat ailments/illness by mending the soul. Alleviating traumas affecting the soul/spirit restores the physical body of the individual to balance and wholeness. The shaman also enters supernatural realms or dimensions to obtain solutions to problems afflicting the community. Shamans may visit other worlds/dimensions to bring guidance to misguided souls and to ameliorate illnesses of the human soul caused by foreign elements. The shaman operates primarily within the spiritual world, which in turn affects the human world. The restoration of balance results in the elimination of the ailment. In areas where indigenous shamanism still thrives, there is a clear divide between "lay" people (who participate in and practice shamanic belief and tradition) and the professionals or specialists themselves. A lay practitioner of shamanism is not awarded any special title, as this is the norm within traditional societies. A shamanic professional, who is a highly-trained and very often spiritually selected individual, is sometimes known as a shaman.. From Wikipedia under the

From Google Video Search: "magical cure" What is the best cure for loneliness? Q. I was the lonely child growing up, even though I was one of the nine children my parents had. I grew up in a village of twenty houses total which should speak for itself. School was the place where I was made fun of and where other girls had fun by making me feel a reject. OK; a lot changed since that but in the same time nothing seem to have changed for me at all; at least not in the inside. I still hide in the house, and I still feel the same pain caused by a deep sense of loneliness. If you ll tell me to go at there and try to make some friends; I ll probably feel powerless about it, and give up the idea before even trying it; I guess I still feel like maybe I m too different. I don t know. I do know that I want to brake this cycle.… [cont.] Asked by Elzbieta Trzeciak - Sat Feb 17 22:56:08 2007 - Other - Society & Culture - 14 Answers - Comments A. Hi, was looking for something else and seen this question. For me, i've seldom been lonely because of my life's circumstances, but for other reasons. There is no easy answer to this problem that affects many people. The internet can become lonely and make you feel pretty small too. I think I heard that if you try to help others in a selfless way when you're feeling bad, it can make you feel better, but i've never really tried it heh. Drugs can numb the pain too, lol - you said you wanted a magic pill! But, maybe there isn't anything wrong with being a bit reclusive ? If you're lonely, thats no good though. I'm nearly always alone. I grew up with very few friends and social rejection - for various reasons probably but I know how it feels. I… [cont.] Answered by AdAbsurdum - Sat Feb 17 23:12:24 2007 Help!! Need magical cure for?
Q. My mom is very very sick from drinking last night. Is there any miracle cures anyone has for a hangover. If not what should she do to make herself feel better thanks! Asked by Ali D - Sat May 9 16:39:29 2009 - Beer, Wine & Spirits - 5 Answers - Comments A. Tell her to go back to bed. Letting a hangover run its course while she sleep may be the best cure. Also she needs to hydrate, drink as much water as she can. If she has a headache, muscle pain, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, sensitivity to light and sound, or irritability an over-the-counte r pain reliever should be taken right before bed or when she wakes up and that should help clear up some of her systems. Nausea and fatigue can be reduced by eating bland foods like crackers, and bouillon soup is also recommended. While she may not have an appetite during a hangover, getting some food in her stomach will help give her the energy to fight fatigue and metabolize the alcohol out of her system. Hope that helped <333 Answered by thisisbliss - Sat May 9 16:56:45 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "magical cure" |
